High Protein Chocolate Energy Balls

chocolate energy balls

I've had my fair share of energy balls in my life, these chocolate energy balls are probably my fave. Why? Because they are super rich, chocolatey and contain so much goodness in terms of the ingredients. I love to have them on hand for whenever I need a quick boost of energy or want a snack. They are great to keep in the fridge or freezer for whenever you get the urge. And with these chocolate energy balls, that urge can happen a lot because they are THAT good.

2017 Wrap up:

Maybe it's the time of the year, but I have been feeling pretty anxious lately with all the things to do. But a little vacation planned over Christmas has me pretty pumped and is also going to be a time to slow down, reflect and recharge. I don't think I have been so excited to go on a trip and do nothing in a long time. Usually, I like going away and doing the whole exploring thing and I find lying on a beach kind of boring. But I really want and need that right now, so I'm not planning a thing at all. Just gonna go with the flow and relax as much as possible.

Vision Boarding:

Coming up on the end of the year has me reflecting on everything that has happened this year and also gets me super excited for everything that is to come in 2018. I created a vision board for myself this year and although not everything has happened quite the way I wanted it to, it provided me with a solid understanding of everything thats possible. It can be easy to forget sometimes that we have choice over our lives and how we live it and that even the small things we do everyday matter.

Intention Setting for 2018:

I also decided to set an intention for 2018, just one thing that I hope to create and have more of in my life. That one thing that I want to do more of in 2018 is to hone in on my purpose. I have been a really big fan of the five minute journal and after doing it on a daily basis for about half of 2017, it has really helped bring some insight into things that are working and things that I can improve on.

Becoming More Centred and Present

So something that I noticed is that I spend a lot of time being out of focus with what my real purpose is. I get sidetracked by all the things I think I should be doing and that causes overwhelm and unnecessary stress and anxiety. I spend a lot of time during my day doing things that truly don't matter or bring me any closer to my goals. Things like perusing the internet, scrolling through social media (Insta and Facebook can be deadly for me) and when I do these things it brings me out of alignment. Sometimes it even gets me in that comparison trap, which is the worst! The only way to stop doing these things is to recognize that I am doing it and refocus. Easier said than done I know, but perhaps by sharing it with you all it will help me hold myself more accountable.

Sharing My Message

I truly believe that my purpose is to show people that healthy eating and living looks different on everyone and that health and wellness are not all or nothing. I don't believe that you need to be obsessed with health and wellness in order to live your best life, in fact it can be rather unhealthy to be consumed with healthy food. In order to share this message, I really believe in connecting with people as much as possible to show them how to do this. In this age of social media, where it seems that almost everything is going virtual, I really want to connect in person as well. There is so much goodness and power in finding and cultivating that connection. And so, in-person workshops and retreats are something that I want to do more of as well. So, I am starting 2018 off by doing just that.

Chocolate Energy Balls FTW:

Ok, lets get back to these high protein chocolate energy balls, because honestly you just need them in your life. I used Garden of Life Fit Protein Powder because it contains 28g of protein per scoop and 9g of fibre and just like all of their protein powders they taste smooth and delicious. I have tried protein powders in energy balls recipes before, but they tasted chalky and kinda gross. Not with these ones though! They seriously just taste amazing. I hope you give these chocolate energy balls a try and let me know how they go. If you are feeling up to it, let me know if you set an intention for 2018 and if so, what is it you are hoping to cultivate more of this year. Even if it is just more of these chocolate energy balls...
